Georgetown International Kite and Culture Festival Sets Times

When:  April 17 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) & 18 (noon to 5 p.m.)

Where:  Cardome Center (US 25, one mile north of downtown Georgetown)

What:   The festival, which will be held rain or shine, is presented by the Georgetown Rotary Club, in partnership with 98.1 the Bull and the Georgetown News-Graphic. Admission is free, but parking is $5. Attendees will be able to build and fly kites and experience aspects of a variety of international cultures. In the past, cultures represented have included Japanese, Irish, Latin and African. Representatives from Tahara-shi, Georgetown's sister city in Japan, often attend the event and present kite-making demonstrations. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the sister-city relationship with Tahara-shi.
