Tim McGraw's Southern Voice

No one person has more fun entertaining, and playing with an audience than Mr. Tim McGraw. The Southern Voice Tour started with a twang from the singer, which shook Rupp Arena to its rafters.
The Lost Trailers opened the night for the country star, followed by the Grammy-winning group, Lady Antebellum. The crowd was in prime condition by the time McGraw hit the stage.

Clad in black and topped of with his signature hat, it is obvious McGraw enjoys his job. He plays with the crowd like no other; shouting for one section to scream louder, while urging the “real country women in the back to shake it like never before.” Like a pinball, the singer shot from one side of the stage to the other, ensuring every camera in the arena had the perfect photo.

McGraw played a mixed selection of his huge repertoire; breaking out everything from “Indian Outlaw” (1994) to his latest, “Southern Voice.” It was refreshing to hear original McGraw country in tow with his latest sound reinvention.

Lexington is lucky to have such a good-hearted southern man steal the show for the night. Tim McGraw will be warmly welcomed next time his tour rolls through the area, until then, his CD will have to do.
