Thinking Pink (Flamingos?)
For Breast Cancer Awareness!

LEXINGTON, KY -- In a unique initiative to raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment, two Republic Bank associates - Emily Miller and Kelly Stevens along with the their fellow Lexington associates are preparing to '”flock” unsuspecting local business and residences by placing a group of plastic pink flamingos in front yards.

"I guess the technical word for this idea is 'flocking,’" Bo Henry, Republic's Lexington Market President, said, with a smile. "It's really a fun, different way to encourage contributions to a VERY worthy cause: American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser."

"We have a gaggle of plastic pink flamingos, and, for a $20 donation or more, we will temporarily place a group of flamingos at a home or business of your choice,” he explained. “Along with the flock, information will be delivered on how each recipient can participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser and how they can have these birds delivered to another local recipient.”

The flamingos will be moved to new locations every 24 – 48 hours, but the cause is so important, we're hopeful that area residences and business will recognize this 'zany' effort and make a donation to help us flock the community.

Enjoy the fun -- and help us keep the flamingos “migrating”' around Lexington through October. Any individual or business can flock a friend or neighbor by going to our web site – www.pinkflamingosforlife.org or by visiting their nearest Republic Bank to place a flocking order. Flocking is limited to Fayette County.
