Ralph Stokley - Stokley's Marine

Ralph Stokley and his family have been creating family
memories on the water for 40 years! His parents started
the business in 1972. As a child, Ralph learned the ropes
and became familiar with the world of boating. In fact, it’s
the only job he’s ever had, giving him 31 years of full-time
experience at Stokley’s Marine!

Stokley, a University of Kentucky graduate, says that his
most successful business move was to pick up Tracker boats
22 years ago, a company that has been great to work with
through the years. Offering a wide range of boats at all price
ranges has been essential to the success of Stokley’s Marine.
They are excited to once again have Crownline boats back
on the floor, making them the only Crownline dealer in
Central Kentucky.

Their current location is their third and they’ve expanded
it seven times. The average employee for Stokley’s Marine
has been there for over 15 years. Stokley’s aims to take
care of their customers, through friendly customer service,
keeping them coming back again and again.. Some of their
customers are on their 10th or 15th boat purchased from
Stokley’s!

Stokley says that some lessons must be learned the hard
way. Some people assume that life as the owner of a
successful business is glamorous, but it certainly takes a
little elbow grease sometimes. The owner has to pitch in
and help with every job around the office--even cleaning
the bathroom, at times.

When he’s not in the office, Stokley loves being on the water.
He and his family love to go boating and fishing, most often
in Jamestown on Lake Cumberland. He has a wife and
three teenage kids who all love water skiing, tubing wake
boarding and fishing. His kids all work for him during the
summer, following in the footsteps of their father. They love
the Bluegrass and have never lived anywhere else!

Stokley’s parents are alive and well. His father, who has tons
of knowledge and expertise in the field, is in Kentucky for six
months out of the year and works for the business part-time
delivering boats.
