TUSKA LLC PARTNERS WITH SUSAN G. KOMEN LEXINGTON TO MAKE BEADS, WITH NEIGHBORHOOD BEAD ROLLING PARTIES

Tuska LLC along with Susan G. Komen Lexington Affiliate hosted the first neighborhood One Bead, One Story bead rolling party at 1208 Cooper Drive, Lexington, KY. Amber Philpott, award winning news anchor for Lexington’s WKYT TV station, attended and covered this story which aired Friday, July 19th on the 5:00 p.m. news segment. http://www.wkyt.com/pink/headlines/Soncontinues- fathers-legacy-one-bead-at-a-time-216201111.html The bead project entitled “One Bead, One Story” is based on the idea that each bead created represents an individual’s story of coping with cancer. Seth Tuska, Tuska Legacy Director, on behalf of Tuska is also donating a paper cast relief entitled “Beads” for silent auction that will be at Susan G. Komen’s signature upcoming Komen Pink Tie Masquerade Ball on August 9th at the Hilton. Also local Lexington celebrities gathered on July 22nd at Susan G. Komen’s Lexington based office to roll their own beads and share stories. Some of the beads will be used in necklaces to be auctioned at the Pink Tie event. Tuska’s shared initiative is to have a partnership with Komen Lexington, and to introduce this community project and expand it as a model that can be replicated regionally and nationally and hopefully one day have a global reach with stories as different and unique as each bead rolled. Komen Lexington is so honored to be working with such an established name as Tuska,” said Jennifer Bricking Executive Director of Susan G. Komen Lexington. “Their idea of using art as a healing tool reflects the mission of Komen. We could not be more thankful for their support of Komen and the Pink Tie Masquerade Ball.”
