Three Winter Break sessions for students in kindergarten through eighth grade will provide a variety of hands-on exploration in holiday creativity as well as art for anytime! Three two-day sessions will provide fun, educational, and interactive opportunities for students to dig deeply into various art forms and themes, and to experience and experiment with unique materials and projects. Classes include Winter Birds, Wild Creatures in Colored Pencil, Gingerbread Architecture, Festive Paper Patterns, Character Animation, Cool Caribbean Cruise, Comic Book Characters, International Holiday Celebrations, Beginning Quilting, Origins of Art, Celebrate the Season with Clay, and much more! All classes are taught by professional artists and arts educators. Classes are offered 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Students may take one or two classes or bring their lunch and stay the whole day in up to five unique classes! Now celebrating their 45th year, the Living Arts & Science Center is a not-for-profit organization that provides creative and unique opportunities for exploration and education in the arts and sciences. Art galleries, a Discovery gallery, arts and science classes, workshops and fieldtrips are provided year-round for children and adults of all ages. In addition, the Living Arts and Science Center partners with community agencies and organizations to provide free hands-on arts activities at community events and programs and classes for special needs and at-risk students.
