Data, data, data … there is so much to say about it. We have become a society with the luxury of expecting the right data to be at our fingertips at all times. Whether it’s via our phones, tablets, laptops, or desktops, hardly a waking hour goes by that doesn’t involve pulling down data from someone’s server.
As much as we rely on our data, protecting it has become a very important part of its management. At SIO, we recommend that you take steps to protect your data, and that means making a simple investment into services tailored exactly to suit your needs.
For some people, placing data in a cloud somewhere and assuming it will be there when needed is as far as they have gotten with their plan. The problem with that line of thinking, however, is that clouds don’t usually make guarantees about your data.
For example, look at Google Drive and examine their Terms of Service. Within that document, Google explicitly states that it may choose to discontinue the service and certainly makes no commitments regarding reliability or availability.
The point is not to discourage people from utilizing clouds—the real goal is to educate people about the importance of data protection concepts and how they can work alongside cloud data service.
Data storage and data preservation cannot exist without proper data protection. Give yourself some peace of mind by utilizing SIO for your one-stop all-inclusive data needs. You’ll be very glad you did.
