LEXINGTON LEGENDS: The 15th season of Lexington Legends baseball will kick off this month. The first game of the season takes place on Thursday, April 9th in Charleston, South Carolina. The Legends will take on the West Virginia Power when they play the first of 70 home games on Thursday, April 16th at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. May 2nd will mark the 141st running of The Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs and to celebrate the annual event is Central Kentuckys largest Derby party, Derby Eve Lexington. The event will kick off Friday, May 1st at The Polo Barn at Saxony Farm with festivities starting at 7:30 pm. Guests will enjoy gourmet cuisine, tasting stations, a bourbon and cigar bar & a high energy dance band straight out of Los Angeles. 2015 ROSE JULEP RECIPE CONTEST: Join Four Roses and TOPS at The Grand Reserve on April 22nd as they challenge Lexington-area mixologists to concoct an original julep recipe just in time for Derby. Each recipe will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges based on originality, taste, presentation and creativity. Then, for a $5 donation, members of the audience willl have the opportunity to taste each julep and vote for their favorite. ART IN BLOOM: The annual Art In Bloom event will honor Kasia and Andre Pater and will help support The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky.
