Louisville Screening of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” to Benefit Make-A-Wish®Nov. 17
Net proceeds will help grant the wishes of Kentucky kids
Louisville fans of “The Hunger Games” will have the unique opportunity to view the final film in its series before it opens nationwide – and help local kids while doing so. On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Lawrence Foundation will host a special screening of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” at Cinemark Tinseltown USA to benefit Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Tickets are now available, and net proceeds from the event will help grant the wishes of Kentucky kids who are battling life-threatening medical conditions.
Filmgoers are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite series character for a chance to be named “Best Dressed” and win prizes, including movie posters autographed by Jennifer Lawrence. Those who purchase available ticket packages will have a chance to take home exclusive movie memorabilia from “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.” Additionally, ticket package purchasers will gain access to an exclusive online, silent auction of items procured by the Lawrence Foundation.
While Jennifer will be in Los Angeles for the film’s premiere during the event, she will be well represented by her local family and friends.
“Jennifer has seen first hand the power of a wish for kids who are battling life-threatening medical conditions, so the cause behind this special screening truly inspires her,” said her mother, Karen Lawrence.
The event will help Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana grant more wishes in the state of Kentucky, like eight-year-old wish kid Chase of Lagrange. Chase is battling a cancerous kidney tumor and wished to take a Disney Cruise. She and her family took the trip of a lifetime in May 2014, which allowed them to temporarily forget about the stresses of Chase's illness.
