Tommy Blaze

Comedian Tommy Blaze's hilarious take on relationships has brought him national acclaim and brings him back to Lexington. The Florida-born comic has performed on The Tonight Show and The Late Show with David Letterman, made guest appearances on such TV hits as Home Improvement, Roseanne and Friends, and worked as a writer on multiple Eddie Murphy movies. Not only has Tommy appeared on just about every major TV comedy program, he even landed his own show on Fox called 'The Newz'. Tommy also appeared as a guest star on NBC's 'Friends' in the last episode of Season 1. His style is fast paced and hard-hitting; Tommy has an intellectual and humorous outlook on life and relationships. His comedy is opinionated, thoughtful, controversial and admittedly one sided. If you are married, single, divorced, parents, gay or lesbian, confused, young, desperate, misguided, lost or easily offended then you need Tommy Blaze to straighten you out.

Ralph Harris

Ralph Harris is one of today’s hottest comedic and acting talents! He made his feature film debut in DREAMGIRLS, a film that has struck gold (of the Golden Globe variety). Ralph kicks off the movie as the Detroit MC that helps Jamie Foxx hook up with the Dreamettes. Ralph recalls with special fondness the nearly fifty takes needed to perfect his character’s “gentle caress” of Beyonce Knowles' well-known bootylicious behind. But really, who’s counting? Not one to slow down, Ralph has continued his film career momentum, immediately landing his second feature role in the film EVAN ALMIGHTY starring Steve Carell and Wanda Sykes (no word on whether Ralph’s gentle caress of Wanda’s behind made the final cut). Ralph’s jump to the big screen comes after years of successful television work, including appearances on Seinfeld, Parenthood, Nick Freno, Living Single and In Living Color. No stranger to late night, Ralph has been featured on The Tonight Show starring Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. However Ralph is probably best known for his starring role in the ABC-TV sitcom “On Our Own,” which aired during the immensely popular TGIF block on Friday nights, and which currently airs in syndication on TV One. You can also catch Ralph on TV in airings of his two previously recorded Cable TV specials – Comedy Central Presents and the HBO Half-Hour Comedy Special. When he’s not filming, Ralph continues to tour the country and perform to sold-out audiences as a stand-up comedian, his first career and love. Ralph’s comedy is character driven, and is influenced by many of the greats, including his idols Bill Cosby and Jonathan Winters. Born and raised in Philadelphia... Ralph spends what little time he’s not on the road performing, at home in Los Angeles. Also appearing: Spike Davis and Scott Wilson

Almost, Maine

by John Cariani Directed by Steven J. Arnold January 27-29, February 3-5 and 10-12, 2012 On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. The Rivalry

The Rivalry, Corwin’s riveting depiction of the Abraham Lincoln-Stephen Douglas Illinois Senate debates, incorporates dialogue from the original debate transcripts to bring to life the fierce competition between the future president and the incumbent senator as they tackled the day's most controversial issues and the American concept of freedom. This dramatic radio play eloquently reminds us of a time when political debate engaged Americans in a way that screeching talking heads and the blogosphere cannot, and it underscores the impact of words and their effective communication in shaping public policy. The Rivalry is also a stunning testament to the willingness of Lincoln and Douglas to put aside their differences and “reach across the aisle” for the good of the country. Raising questions of human values and rights that still polarize our nation, the play examines the “proper” role of the federal government in the lives of citizens.

But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost. Almost, Maine, a wistful, fresh comedy that explores the magic and mystery surrounding the human heart, is sure to bring warmth and laughter to anyone that has ever lost, found, or yearned for love. Rated: PG-13, mild adult language and adult humor

The Spring Standards

An independent band in virtually every sense of the word (no label, no publisher, etc,) The Spring Standards have let their music speak for itself, and have seen a path unfold for them that just seems to get better and better. 'An energetic force of three-part harmony circling over a rock n' roll sound with an old country aftertaste.' "The crowd at the Bowery Ballroom hadn't come to see them. Chances are it had never even heard the band. But in a matter of minutes, this loud, energetic trio had made converts of everyone. Tight, soaring harmonies were set against old country twang as the band exuded a pure, childlike joy of playing as many instruments simultaneously as possible. Dressed in a black prom dress, front woman Heather Robb jumped around the stage like the unaffected younger sister of Karen O, banging on pretty much everything in sight, Including a snare drum, keyboard, and glockenspiel." NY MAGAZINE. Cover is $10.

Ian Bagg

Ian was born in the little town of Terrace, BC in Canada (approximately 750 miles north of Vancouver). His parents Robyn and Gary, a Canadian and an Australian, gave Ian two passports but sadly neither of them were American. Ian had to embark on becoming an immigrant to America. In 1996 he moved to New York City, and became a regular at Comic Strip Live and the Comedy Cellar. This led immediately to 3 appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. In 2000 Ian made his move to Los Angeles, but before leaving New York he did the Aspen Comedy Festival, the Montreal Comedy Festival as well as stand up spots on HBO Showcase Comics, Friday Nights and his first small film role in Tim Robbins film The Cradle Will Rock. He was also a regular member of the sketch group The Milk Duds but Los Angeles came a-calling and he packed up and moved to Beverly Hills. Ian ended up in a slew of independent movies such as The Purpose, Save the Mavericks and Ffing Frank. He booked bit parts in sitcoms such as The Damon Show as well as doing correspondent work for Myspace.com. Ian hosted The Hollywood Burn on Ripe TV and on his live talk show caled The Ian Bagg Show that was held at the famous Friars Club in Beverly Hills. Ian tours constantly throughout the world, and has made repeat appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson. His Comedy Central Presents Ian Bagg was so well-received that Ian ended up dating Britney Spears for three romantic nights. In 2007 Ian made a second appearance at the Aspen Comedy Festal and filmed an HBO special called A Comics Climb with Ian Bagg. A man in love with the art of stand-up, Ian was thrilled when The History Channel came knocking and asked him to be a part of the special History of the Joke. Doing shows in China, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and all over North America keeps his frequent flier points high and his knowledge of the world sharp. Al Gore described his comedy as 'controlled chaos', President Reagan on his death described it as 'an interactive delight', and Nancy agreed. Do not miss your chance to see Ian Bagg live in Lexington! Also appearing: Gabe Kea and Scott Wilson

Red Barn Radio: Level Green Grass

Level green formed in 2009 with Jim Dargavell on guitar and lead vocals, Robby McFerron on mandolin, lead and bass vocals, Keith Mink on banjo, guitar, and baritone vocals, Paula Mink on tenor vocals and Edwin Robinson on bass. Paula has since left the band to pursue other interests (her main interest being the first grandchild, Gracie Lynn Mink....lol) and Jim has taken over on tenor vocals. The current line-up combines tight vocal harmonies with complimentary musicianship giving "Level green" a unique blend of traditional bluegrass sound with a twist of contemporary flavor. The release of "Level green's" debut album entitled "Kentucky Line" also showcases the bands songwriting talent with eleven of the twelve tracks being original songs written by members of "Level green".

The Bats

Bringing together the eight diverse talents known as The Bats has netted a genre that can best be described as cabaret meets rock and roll. .. and everything in between. The five feisty women and three very brave men of this distinctive group embrace many musical styles with the material ranging from comical to poignant. They sing of love lost and found, the joys and stings of growing older, and of life's best and worst moments. Whether covering other artists' songs or singing their own original tunes, the common denominator is tight vocal harmonies, skillful musicianship, wit and sophistication, energy and creativity ... with props and choreography thrown in for good measure. They sing, they dance, they yodel ..and they're real good lookin'. In total the "Bats experience" is unique, smart, fun, lively, refreshing, and most of all entertaining. With special guest: Former Bat-Susan Thomas.

Mandy and the Bandits

Comprised of Chicago musicians with a broad spectrum of musical backgrounds, the Bandits' sound is a highly-conductive amalgam of styles. Bluegrass-inspired, Country-imbued, with flecks of jazz and more than a little bit of rock 'n roll, these songs and this band bursts with originality, raw emotion and poetry. Blogger and music fan Pat Hickey has called them "...One of the tightest and most disciplined groups of artists in the trade. Not since Poi Dog Pondering have this many talented artists brought together Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, Pop and Brazilian music to Chicago." English musician/ manager/ record producer Peter Asher (Beatles, James Taylor, Dixie Chicks) raves, "Really excellent - both the playing and the singing very beautiful. Great harmonies... Count me in as a fan!" Cover is $7.

This three time veteran of the Montreal Comedy Festival scored over 4 million hits on You Tube with his song parody, Obama Man. After graduating from Sheridan College in 1980, Greg went on to work as an Animator on the Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show. He then went on to direct and provide voice-overs for many of Saturday morning’s top rated cartoons like Police Academy, Hello Kitty, and the Super Mario Brothers Super Show.
