Alltech Lexington's St. Patrick's Parade and Festival Fesitivities will begin after the Shamrock Shuffle at 11:00AM and will continue until 1:00PM when the 31th Anniversity St. Patrick's Parade will march down Main Street, turn left on Upper Street and end up on Vine Street at the entrance to CentrePointe. St. Patrick's Parade and Festival St. Patrick's Day Parades have been a long and important tradition in the United States and throughout the world by both Irish and non-Irish people. Irish American immigrants brought the first St. Patrick's celebration to Boston in 1737 and General George Washington allowed his soldiers of Irish descent in the Continental Congress a holiday on March 17 to thank them for their service. This year will mark the 31st Anniversary of Lexington’s St. Patrick's Day Parade which will be accompanied by an Irish Festival that will extend the celebration throughout the day. Festivities will begin at 10 am after the Shamrock Shuffle, will continue until the parade at 1 pm and then resume until 7 pm.
