Travel Requirements

Travel is required to other KVC locations which currently include offices in the following states: KS, KY, MO, NE, and WV. The incumbent may work in a KVC office up to two weeks before returning to his/her home location.

Required Education/License
Bachelor's degree preferred plus five years of related experience and/or training; or stated degree and a minimum of two years KVC HR experience with above average performance levels consistently maintained.
PHR or SPHR designation preferred.

Assistant Health Center Manager (part-time)

Job Overview: Responsible to the Health Center Manager (Louisville/Lexington). Position is a part-time non-exempt position, four days per week at a rate of $13/hour.

Job Skills: Performs administrative and clinical task to keep the health centers of Planned Parenthood of Kentucky running smoothly and to provide customer services and patient care, excluding physical examinations, within a health care setting as part of a health care team. Assists the Health Center Manager in various duties as assigned, and manages the health center in the Health Center Managers absence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides excellent customer satisfaction through customer service to PPKY patients. Including demonstrating respect for individual needs and backgrounds of patients, interacts professionally in person and over the telephone with patients, co-workers and others
Use the patient management system to schedule appointments, enter patient demographic information and check out patients.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs as needed (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts.
Complies with all state and federal reporting requirements, including reporting possible child abuse.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients and may also dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.
Responsible for various financial procedures including providing cash receipts, patient financial history interviews, preparing bank deposits and completing various insurance or governmental billings forms.
Dispense supplies.
Maintain records, transfers, filing, special health center logs.
Provide client education.
Provide patient referrals.
Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
After training which encompasses pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic systems, may perform all PPKY listed waived CLIA tests including for example, hemoglobin, urine dipstick, and both high and low sensitivity pregnancy tests.
After specialized training may be asked to perform moderate complexity laboratory tests.
After OSHA training in blood borne pathogens and venipuncture technique may do blood draws and DMPA injections depending on the needs of the HC.
Documentation, reporting and notifications of patient of results of moderate or high proficiency tests with supervision according to agency/policy/procedure.
Assist clinician in exam room as requested.
Complies with all safety and infectious control measure in work site as stated in the Policy and Procedures Manual and adheres to all OSHA Standards.
Complies with PPKYs HIPAA policy and Confidentiality policy.
Assists in overall management of a health center site, including supervision of health center staff in the Health Center Managers absence.
Maintain knowledge of Planned Parenthood of Kentucky's policies, governing values and strategic plan.
Assists in health center scheduling, staffing and general daily operations.
Assists in all necessary reports, forms, time sheets in TimeSweep, monthly summaries, supply requisitioning, etc.
Assists in maintaining control over health center funds and other assets including petty cash, ordering and inventory.
Assists in the maintenance of medical records system and the appropriate safeguarding of documentation.
Assists in the dissemination of information to health center staff through regular meetings and other means.
Assists in the maintenance of all facilities and equipment through the landlord and other service representatives.
 
Additional Info: Qualifications:

1) High school diploma or equivalent required; degree from accredited college/university preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience in which the individual demonstrates skills in medical office practice management.

2) Minimum of two years experience in a health care or medical practice related setting; administrative/supervisory experience preferred.

3) Strong knowledge of third party insurance, Medicaid and HIPAA guidelines as they relate to medical practice requirements and billing required.

4) Fluent computer skills/experience especially with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Prior experience with electronic medical records systems a plus.

5) Ability to collect, process, analyze and appropriately interpret data and report on clinical/health center indicator measures;

6) Ability to manage diverse work teams including clinical staff and work independently on a self-initiated/purposefully directed basis;

7) Experience and demonstrated commitment to providing high quality, client centered customer service;

8) Ability to work in a cost effective and flexible manner and meet productivity requirements;

9) Must have excellent problem solving and logical reasoning abilities; able to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure; highly organized; proven time manager; detail oriented with ability to meet deadlines;

10) Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, listening and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with a diverse group of clients, staff and volunteers in a professional and sensitive manner.

11) Energetic, innovative and passionate team leader dedicated to the mission and philosophy of Planned Parenthood.

12) Ability to interpret and speak Spanish a plus.

13) Background/credit check required.

14) LPN licensing a plus.
