Question: I have a couple of questions pertaining to boat hull design because I have a problem which I would like to solve. I own and operate a speed boat which has enough power to go very fast. The problem seems to me is that it runs too wet. It is a jet drive so trimming the outlet nozzle is less effective than it would be if I had a conventional outdrive. I believe that trimming the hull is the only way to gain lift and efficiency. I run a 7 1/2 degree vee. I think that a keel pad is the answer. However, I have no knowlege of how to calculate the size of pad that I would need. Can you provide a formula? The second question relate to the first and deals with intake design. With a water jet propulsion system the water intake is in the bottom of the hull. He knows that I have other male friends( no one serious), but it always question me about them. Like when am I going to see them or if I look at my cell phone he thinks I'm checking it for messages from other guys (but he is smiling when he accuses me). I know that he has a trust issue because his ex left him for someone else, but I feel like he should not question me about my friends when he does not want to commit to me in the first place. Why is he acting jealous? Is he afraid of getting too close to me? Part of me wish that he never came back into my life and brought back these old feelings. I really do like him and I am trying to be patient with him because I know he was in a 9 year marriage that went sour and I know what it feels like to be hurt by someone who you really love. So, should I leave him alone or take things really slow with him? Before you answer that I would also like to add that for the first 2 or 3 weekends we spend alot of time together, but lately when I try to plan things with him, he is always playing cards for money and drinking alot.
