Preserving Hope and a Future for Families
People who are experiencing family instability face a variety of issues, but the most common seems to be the feeling of helplessness. With my values and my experience, I can make the tough decisions that are required of a Fayette Family Court Judge, and preserve hope and a future for families in crisis.



Growing Up in Lexington
As I grew up in Lexington, my father, Lynwood Schrader, who retired from Kentucky Utilities in 1992, taught me, by example and by direct verbal instruction, the value of respect for authority, responsibility, hard work and the need for unquestioned ethics in the business world. Read more »



Balancing Family and Career
I cherish the time that I have spent with my children over the years. I have enjoyed working with them in a variety of church, school and other activities. In addition to teaching Sunday School for them, I have also coached and served as a referee and umpire for their various basketball and baseball teams. Read more »




My Legal Experience
I spent over 20 years in an office on the corner of Short and Market Streets, overlooking the old Courthouse, and enjoyed a wide range of legal experience as my law career advanced.
In the past 27 years, I have tried dozens of cases in circuit courts around the state, including many car wreck and other injury cases, real estate and fair housing cases, but my passion that has developed over the years involves the family.

We have added three outstanding lawyers to our firm, Stephen Marshall, Jimmie Orr and Joe Howard, and my time spent on Southland Drive has been extremely satisfying.
