WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) – The Lexington Legends return to Whitaker Bank Ballpark for the final homestand before the All-Star Break. The Legends will welcome in the Columbia Fireflies for a four-game series beginning on Monday, June 11 at 7:05 p.m.
“The next homestand at Whitaker Bank Ballpark will feature our Kentucky roots. We are excited to honor Kentucky Football Coach Mark Stoops with a bobblehead on Tuesday, recognizing his work on the field and within the city of Lexington. Families can also enter the ballpark early on Monday during Sensory Friendly Time which makes Whitaker Bank Ballpark more accessible to everyone,” said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea.
Monday, June 11 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Columbia: Fans with sensory sensitivities and their families will be able to enter the ballpark at 5 p.m. to take part in pre-game festivities they previously may have had to skip. There will be no loud music or public-address announcements made during this time. Legends players will be available for autographs and the Toyota Triple Play Zone will be open, also. When gates open for the public at 6 p.m., children and their families can make their way to Guest Services to pick up one of the thirty Sensory Safety Kits provided by UK HealthCare for the remainder of their time at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Tuesday, June 12 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Columbia: The Legends will add another Legendary bobblehead when they giveaway University of Kentucky Football Head Coach, Mark Stoops bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans that enter the gates of Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The seven-inch tall bobblehead will reflect Coach Stoops standing on the sidelines of Kroger Field with his hands on his hips, donning a white UK short-sleeve quarter zip with khakis, along with a white UK hat. He will also have on the classic football radio headset and sunglasses. It will also be Legen-Dairy Night courtesy of Dairy Farmers of Kentucky. Fans can try their hand at milking a replica cow while the Kentucky Dairy Farmers giveaway free samples on the plaza. Then watch Miss Kentucky throw out the first pitch! Fans can treat themselves to $0.25 hot dogs all night long!
Wednesday, June 13 at 10:35 a.m. vs. Columbia: Whitaker Bank Ballpark will be soaked with fun for Splash Day! There will be water related on field games between innings as well as Legends staff having water guns and buckets of water for kids. Following the final out, there will be a postgame water balloon fight on the field with Legends players as well has an 18ft inflatable water slide. It is also another Winning Wednesday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark! If the Legends win, fans will be able to bring their ticket to the next Wednesday home game for free admission!
Thursday, June 14 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Columbia: It’s another #ThrowbackThursday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark! Love won’t tear us apart as we fight the power and throw it back to the 80’s. We all know you wanna dance with somebody, so classics from artists such as Prince, Michael Jackson and more will be incorporated into the night! Don’t forget to rock your best flock of seagulls haircut and crimp to your heart’s desire! Every Thursday, fans can bring their best friend of the K9 variety for Bark in the Park. Dog owners can bring their K9 friend to the ballpark for a $2 dog entry fee to be donated to the Scott County Humane Society. Fans of the adult variety can grab a drink during Thirsty Thursday presented by Kentucky Ale allowing fans to enjoy $1 12 oz. beers and $3 16 oz. beers at the Bullpen Patio, First Base Pavilion Tent, and the Handlebar in the first base concourse.
