Dressing up for summer events or even semi-formal vacation wear can be tricky.
You naturally want to be dressed appropriately, but also don't want to be too hot or uncomfortable.
A lot of women tend to shy away from shorts, but when done tastefully can make for a very classy look. This matching set from Balmain gives you the breezy feel of summer, while also making a solid fashion statement. When we first spotted this blazer, we instantly thought of cult TV classic Dynasty (the label's designs are rooted in the glamour of the '80s). Edged with gold piping, this longline woven style is cut for a slightly loose silhouette that you can cinch with the detachable tie belt. To beat the heat in style, we paired our luxurious jacket with the matching Balmain optic white shorts, which beautifully showcases the label's signature embossed buttons. It is crafted from cotton-blend denim with a flattering high waist and cargo pockets offering a serious day on a yacht vibe. For accessorizing the focus was on the gold accents found all over both pieces of this ensemble. Christian Louboutin's 'Jonatina' sandals feature PVC bands to create the illusion of a floating ankle strap and elongate the leg. They are made from lustrous gold Italian leather and set on a high leather covered stiletto heel and the signature red sole. Stepping a little outside the box with the bag, we stayed true to our 80's inspired glam. This Cult Gaia Lilleth bag is rendered in brass and features a collapsible design and top handle. We wrapped things up with chic sunnies by Dior, featuring metal frames and cutout details, with a couple of coats of Stila's Huge Extreme Mascara. In this throwback inspired look, you are sure to feel summer chic all the while embracing your inner Alexis Karrington.
