This week we are bringing back one of our favorite closet staples - the little black dress.
The Little Black Dress is a must for many reasons; mostly because it is so versatile.
The LBD comes in many different forms, from casual to black-tie. For our latest outfit, we wanted to go for a party look, since we are in peak holiday season. 1950s-style hourglass silhouettes are a recurring sight throughout Sara Battaglia's AW18 collection, as observed in this black crepe off-the-shoulder dress. It's shaped to a structured sweetheart neckline that is complemented by detachable sleeves, and flares to a full skirt that features side seam pockets. A solid black look is always a great opportunity to bring in a pop of color, incorporate prints or simply bring on the sparkle. With what was have chosen, we managed to check all three of those boxes. Christian Louboutin adds a feline element to its classic Corneille 100 pumps, crafting this point-toe pair from metallic leopard brocade. They are crafted in Italy with an asymmetric vamp and finished with the label's signature red lacquered sole. Now that gorgeous hints of gold have been injected into our ensemble, we wanted to bring them out even more. Handcrafted in Italy, Sanayi 313's black 'Gemma' bag is an intriguing addition to after-dark looks. It's made from plush velvet with metallic gold braided thread trim and top handles – which pull open to reveal a black satin interior. This piece will instantly add a dose of elegance with a note of artistry. When it came to choosing jewels it was all about finding the perfect size and tone. These mother of pearl, gold hued drop earrings by Shelli Segal offer just the right amount of glamour to the lobes, helping take this outfit to the next level. One of the hottest new eyeshadow palettes in the beauty world is the Anastasia Beverly Hills 'Sultry' palette, and it just so happens that its color story is a beautiful match for this look. From the rich mattes to the gleaming metallics, there's a variety of looks one could create with this shade range. For ours, we would definitely lean towards a soft smoky eye with just a sprinkle of glittering sheen. No matter what the occasion is for your night of playing dress up, when you're 'Back In Black' looks this good, you will feel anything but boring.
