Wrigley Media Group Expresses Gratitude to Overwhelming Response for Movie Extras
Over 9,000 candidates vying for 50 roles in the upcoming Drew Barrymore film, The Stand-In
Lexington, Kentucky (February 21, 2019) – Lexington-based Wrigley Media Group was impressed, but not surprised, by the overwhelming outpouring of applicants responding to a request for approximately 50 background actors needed for the upcoming Drew Barrymore film, THE STAND-IN. Over 9,000 candidates submitted their resumes and headshots for various scenes which will be filmed in Lexington and Versailles next week. “It speaks to the level of love and ownership Kentuckians have for the Bluegrass and wanting to be part of something special,” said Wrigley’s senior vice president of production, Greta Pittard. “While we’re seeing resumes from around the country, the vast majority are coming from right here in Kentucky,” she added.
While the casting-call for extras in THE STAND-IN has closed, Wrigley Media Group asks the community to stay tuned as there are more big and exciting projects in the works with opportunities to participate in them. “We are so appreciative in the level of interest we received from this casting-call,” Jayne Hancock, Wrigley CEO, commented. “When the film premieres, there will be a buzz around town after seeing a friend or neighbor in the film along with the picturesque backdrops of Lexington and Versailles.” Hancock indicated this could be the start of a very exciting trend for similar television and movie projects to be filmed in the Bluegrass.
