Rotary Club of Lexington to Celebrate Veteran’s Day with Special Guest Speaker Today

About: The Rotary Club of Lexington will celebrate Veteran’s Day today, Thursday, November 7, at its weekly meeting with special guest speaker, US Air Force Lt. Colonel Eric Pounds. Pounds, a 2004 graduate of the Air Force Academy who also earned an MBA from Liberty University and a master’s degree in counseling and leadership from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, is a veteran of four deployments encompassing 100 combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Colonel Pounds, who earned, along with several other decorations, two Meritorious Service Medals and three Air Medals and now teaches at the Air Force Academy, will be joined by fellow Veterans Colonel Maxine “Micki” King and Colonel John Shotwell, both of whom are members of the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame. King, a female Veteran is a former Olympian and Shotwell a veteran of 125 combat missions during the Vietnam War.
