Outfit of the Week: Horsin' Around

Jesse L. Brooks

The rescheduled Kentucky Derby is this weekend, and while this year there is a no guest rule, that doesn't mean we still can't celebrate while we watch at home. Besides, these days we could always use a good excuse to dress up!  As soon as we saw this dynamic watercolor horse print by Stella McCartney, we knew it would be perfect for Derby day. Since it's Summer, accessories need to be fresh and colorful; starting with a pair of lemony chunky heeled sandals by Victoria Beckham, a cornflower Gucci bag, and chic Warby Parker cat-eye sunnies. Last but not least, the most important part of any horse race ensemble is a fabulous hat. Christine A. Moore's 'Amanda' style offers a panama broad brim with a hand sculpted shallow crown and silk taffeta bow.  For beauty, it's all about a hint of pink using Chantecaille's luminous Cheek Shade blush. No matter who you're rooting for, this outfit is perfect for a day of 'Horsin' Around', even if it isn't from the stands at Churchill Downs.
