2ND ANNUAL DERBY EVE PARTY COMES TO DOWNTOWN LEXINGTON

By Donna Sturgeon

Derby Eve Lexington, Lexington's celebration honoring The Derby will be Friday, May 6, 2016 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the James Pepper Distillery Rickhouse, 1170 Manchester Street, Lexington.  In its second year, the charity event  has become one of Lexington's best attended and showiest Derby Eve parties featuring amazing gourmet food, open bars and top national live bands.
"It's a privilege to partner with the Pepper Distillery Rickhouse on Manchester for the 2016 event. The party was held on a horse farm last year, yet as we anticipated it's going to double in size and we needed a larger facility to accommodate it this year.  Bringing the gala to the Pepper Distillery District is something we are very excited about," said Derby Eve Lexington co-founder Donna Sturgeon.   "Holding the party in downtown makes it easier for everyone to get to - both people that live in Lexington and those in for the Oaks and Derby that are staying in Lexington hotels. In addition UBER has come on board as a corporate partner offering a priority pickup code and discounted first ride to party guests, "says Cyndi Greathouse, a party organizer.
The evening will begin with a spectacular red carpet entrance and media photography row, pre-band entertainment courtesy of the Kentucky Theatre Ballet during the cocktail reception in both the General Admission & V.I.P. areas. Corporate sponsors Four Roses Bourbon & Tito's Handmade Vodka specialty drinks will be passed to guests as they arrive.
Attendees will enjoy gourmet culinary delights, non-stop live entertainment and dancing until 2 a.m. in the venue which will be reminiscent of a turn of the century ballroom with thirty-six floor to ceiling pillars, decorated by some of Lexington's finest interior designers including Zedtta Wellman of Gratz Park Inn and the duo Christy Anderson and Davida Patrick of Anderson+Patrick Designs.
Tickets can be purchased at www.DerbyEveLex.horse.  General Admission tickets are $100 per person and include admission, gourmet food, cocktails and entertainment. V.I.P. tickets are $350 per person for an all access pass that includes General Admission entertainment, V.I.P. areas with gourmet V.I.P. dinner, premium liquor, champagne bar and V.I.P. exclusive entertainment.  Reserve V.I.P. tables at $2,500 per table of eight.
"We are thankful to have such tremendous local and national support in only our second year. The support from the business community makes Derby Eve Lexington happen. The Kentucky Derby is the crown jewel of Kentucky, and this party just adds to that level of excitement for Lexington," says Donna Sturgeon.
2016 event beneficiary's are the Woodford Humane Society, Race for Education, New Vocations Racehorse Adoptions and the Retired Racehorse Project, four registered 501(c) 3 organizations.  Sponsors include The Breeders' Cup, Equibase, Park Equine Hospital, Gratz Park Inn, WKYT-TV, iHeart Radio, TOPS in Lexington, Four Roses Bourbon and Tito's Handmade Vodka, Don Jacobs BMW, Southern Wine & Spirits and UBER.
