Nestled into the Warehouse Block, Market on National is a furniture and home accessory store that offers in-store design help, in-home consultations and a variety of curated selections for your design project. They are showcasing their most recent project, a modern renovation which transformed a dark and dated living room into a bright livable space, perfect for the young couple and their dog. Market on National assisted with everything from paint color selection to space planning to furniture and accessory placement.

Owner Clare Henson’s favorite part about working in the home design industry is “getting to work with so many different clients with different tastes, wants and needs.” The challenge with these projects is helping the client visualize the extreme transformation they can provide with finish and furnishing selections. They are able to achieve that by providing a space-planning layout with furniture selections so that the client has a better visual.

Clare stated that she “loves the super clean transformation from dark heavy walls to a light inviting space.” Market on National was very intentional about the material selection for this particular dog-loving young couple. They were able to keep a consistent, modern vibe throughout the space and curate the whole home in a way that is very livable but appealing to the clients’ taste. Her favorite part was that the dog, Knox, was happy in his new space. For this couple, including their dog and their lifestyle was of utmost importance. They can all cozy up together on the sectional without the fear of ruining their new furniture.

The Market on National team believes that “your space should be first and foremost a reflection of you and all the things you love.” Clare revealed that, “space planning for clients is so rewarding to us at Market on National and getting to customize spaces based on those clients wants and needs is our favorite thing!”

What advice do you give your clients?
