With the Kentucky Derby coming up very soon, it's time to start outfit planning! If you are attending the big day, then you already know the fashion is just as important as choosing the right horse. You want to pick a dress that is suitable for the event, but also one you won't be miserable in. Let's face it with all the walking involved and the desire to wear cute shoes, our feet are going to hurt no matter what. Since the Derby usually has beautiful spring like weather, going for florals and color are always great options. This year, we're thinking pink. Since the event is known as the "Run For The Roses," we are paying tribute through our outfit. Printed with blooming roses and colorful butterflies, Dolce & Gabbana's dress is perfect for a day at the races. It's made from crisp silk-organza and has a lightly boned bodice that cinches in at the waist before giving out to a voluminous midi skirt. Allowing our dress to do most of the talking, we wanted our shoes and bag to be more pared-down. Staying true to our pretty petal hues, Jimmy Choo's 'Celeste' bag features glimmering crystals illuminating the clean, classic profile of a lavish suede frame clutch topped with a geometric clasp. For shoes, it's all about looking feminine and delicate. Christian Louboutin’s iconic bows are reinterpreted with a modern twist in the form of the laser-cut strips on these baby pink Miss Valois sandals. As for jewelry, we wanted an air of simplicity while staying on theme. Whether you're a horse lover or just wearing it as a symbol of good luck,  this horseshoe shaped diamond encrusted ring is sure to bring you sweet serendipity on Derby day. Our most important accessory considering the social affair, is a beautiful hat. Derby hats can be as minimal or extreme as you wish, but we like to fall somewhere in the middle. Christine A Moore's 'Lenora' hat features a parasol oval brim with two hand painted, hand sewn and hand sculpted silk flowers adding great depth of detail to true Southern Belle style. No look would be complete without a little lipstick. Get instant supple lips with Tom Ford Beauty's hydrating 'Ultra-Rich Lip Color.' Imparting a luminous sheen, the creamy, lightweight texture offers a long-lasting, smooth finish. The Kentucky Derby is one of our down home state's most beloved events, and in this outfit, whether your horse wins or loses, you can bet it will still be a day where 'Everything's Coming Up Roses'.
