Bluegrass Families First (BFF) is pleased to share that the 2024 Jean Sabharwal Award nominations are open until September 1, 2023. This annual award recognizes an individual or group who has demonstrated passionate advocacy for Lexington’s children and families.
Bluegrass Families First established the Jean Sabharwal Award in 2014 to recognize local heroes who have dedicated themselves to the service of families with young children. Jean Sabharwal was the founding director of Lexington’s Family Care Center and is a remarkable pioneer whose many years of dedication and advocacy have resulted in brighter futures and better lives for families and children.
Bluegrass Families First is a nonprofit organization with an all-volunteer board working to promote high quality early childhood development, education, health and human services to Lexington families in their progress towards self-sufficiency. In addition to this annual recognition, BFF provides programs related to family mentoring, donation coordination and educational support.
