On the Fourth of July, residents of NewPast on Main urban condominiums have a front-row seat to the city fireworks show on their private rooftop patios. And when there’s a big game or concert at Rupp Arena, parking is never an issue – they’ll walk a couple blocks. If they’re looking for a great local place to eat, a straight shot down Jefferson Street leads to several fun restaurants and bars. No need to call a cab – everything’s within walking distance.
TOPS caught up with Kitty Lane, listing agent for the featured unit, and Joe Gravis, home builder who designed these four-level condos that defy the downfalls of typical urban living—the stereotypes of noise, cramped spaces and views of pavement. Quite the opposite of that chaotic picture of downtown living, these intricate condos are flooded with natural light flowing in from the floor-to-ceiling windows on every level. The condos are based on an iconic style that’s suited urban dwellers for years. The community is strategically tucked away; hardly noticeable on one of the city’s busiest streets. In fact, when it comes to noise, there is an air pocket between each unit, so no walls are shared at all. Any views of city pavement are blocked by a layer of trees surrounding the condos. There are even city plans underway to establish a park right behind the community.
Residents enter the condo at a base level through a private two-car garage with a security system. They walk up stairs to enter a main living area and a modern-style kitchen, complete with granite countertops and a kitchen bar great for entertaining. The tall ceilings, modern light fixtures, sleek new hardwood floors and open layout reflect a contemporary style incorporated by the homebuilder. The first level also provides an additional entrance from the shared community courtyard that is lined with trees.
Up an open set of loft-style stairs, the third level of the home includes the main bedroom and full bathroom and an additional private room or study, with balconies on either side of the unit.
Climb another set of stairs and arrive at the fourth level of the home where residents enjoy an additional living area with access to an exotic rooftop garden. As an added bonus, the eco-friendly and energy-efficient condos meet the approval of environmental-conscious buyers.
