The LexArts HOP is where thousands of locals and visitors alike converge on downtown Lexington to celebrate art throughout the evening with new gallery exhibitions, special events, food and drinks. Thursday Night Live started in 1995 as a reason to encourage people to stay downtown after work. Over the years its become Downtown Lexington Corporation’s signature event, spanning over 30 weeks each year, and providing entertainment for thousands of locals and visitors. The event has taken place in Cheapside Park since its inception. In 2010, the Fifth Third Bank Pavilion was constructed, giving cover for those rare rainy nights and allowing the event to proceed in any weather situation. On April 2nd, 2015, TNL will celebrate the 20th anniversary season with local music, food vendors, and more.

Cinderella - Few things are more magical than a classic fairytale, especially when that story is brought to life. Disneys live-action version of “Cinderella” hits theaters on March 13th. The story follows young Ellas (Lily James) life after the unexpected deaths of both of her parents left her with a new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her two privileged daughters. Relegated to nothing more than a house servant and given the nickname Cinderella, the young woman could easily give up hope on anything better. But Cinderella vows to honor her mothers wishes to always be kind and courageous. Upon meeting handsome stranger Kit (Richard Madden) in the woods, who she assumes is merely an apprentice at the palace, Cinderella feels she has finally met someone worth having faith in. Once she learns the palace has sent out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, Cinderallas hopes are high that she will soon see the charming stranger once again. Sadly Cinderellas bubble is quickly burst when her evil stepmother forbids her to attend and tears her dress to shreds. But with a little help from a Fairy Godmother (Helena Botham Carter) and a couple of do-gooder mice, Cinderellas life is changed forever when she encounters the most magical night of her life. But she only has until midnight to see Kit again before the spell is broken. Cinderella leaves the Prince in a rush, losing her glass slipper in the process. The mysterious shoe is all Kit has left if he has any hope of finding Cinderella again. The Prince makes it his duty and the palaces to find the young woman who can complete his happily ever after.

Keeneland hosts Pink Day in conjunction with First Lady Jane Beshear s Horses and Hope program. Attendees wear pink in an effort to help promote breast cancer awareness while money is raised for this worthy cause. Run The Bluegrass, better known as "Americas Prettiest Half-Marathon", the race takes place in Lexingtons majestic Thoroughbred farms, starting and finishing at Keeneland Race Course. Run The Bluegrass is organized by the 501(c)3 non-profit LeXenomics Group, Inc. with all proceeds going towards other projects run by the company. The race will take place on March 27th & 28th. Celebrating St. Patricks Day is an important tradition for both Irish and non-Irish residents of Fayette County. This year will mark the 36th Anniversary of Lexingtons St. Patricks Day Parade held on Main Street from Midland to Mill Street. Following the parade will be an Irish festival that will continue to celebrate the day of green. The day will be filled with all things Irish, from childrens activities, to live music, to a variety of Irish foods. The Festival begins at 11 am and will continue until 7 pm, the Parade will kick off at 1 pm. To further celebrate the holiday, you can run or walk the 9th Annual Shamrock Shuffle 3K, or pay a visit to a variety of Irish pubs and stores such as McCarthys, Fáilte, Lynaghs, & ONeils where you can drink ale, shop, and be merry.
Runway and RescueOn Saturday March 14, 2015, Rodes of Louisville will be producing an eye-popping runway show featuring the trendiest and most eye-catching mens and womens fashions. The event will benefit both the American Saddlebred Museum and Saddlebred Rescue.
