It doesn’t get any better than Kentucky when it comes to horses, and we’ve got a show that can do the state justice. The Mustang Heritage Foundation (MHF) is bringing its signature Extreme Mustang Makeover (EMM) event back to Lexington June 20-22 with the goal of entertaining audiences of all ages. Come on out to the Kentucky Horse Park to see living, breathing symbols of the American West and their adult trainers from across the country that, with just 100 days of training, have come to compete for $25,000 in cash and prizes. And you can even purchase a mustang of your own. Stop by our America’s Mustang Experience booth to learn how MHF ensures this majestic breed thrives for years to come and how you can help. Visitors will also have the opportunity to actually stand with wild horses by viewing virtual reality videos. All events throughout the weekend are free with exception of the Top 10 Freestyle Finals performance the night of Saturday, June 22. General admission is $15, children under five can attend for free. We also offer a $65 EXTREME VIP package, which includes a three-day parking pass, reserved seating for all competitions and a private reception ahead of the finals competition. Lexington, KY 40511 Time: Events start daily at 9 a.m. daily. Saturday night Top 10 Freestyle Finals start at 6 p.m. The EMM program, created and produced by the MHF in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wild Horse & Burro Program, involves a 100-day training period that challenges trainers to gentle, halter break and saddle train wild mustangs to ready them for competition. Through a series of classes and a Top Ten finals competition, trainers display their formerly wild horse’s skills and demeanor, followed by a live auction where qualified spectators can purchase a mustang of their own.
