MCCORMICK FIELD (Asheville, NC) - The Lexington Legends took the final game of the series facing the Asheville Tourists with a 8-4 victory. The Legends improve to 33-29 on the season and the Tourists drop to 24-38.
Asheville got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Matt McLaughlin drew a walk then was joined on the base path by Sean Bouchard who also reached on a walk. Chad Spanberger then blasted a three-run homer to center field, putting the Tourists up 3-0.
The Tourists scored their final run of the game in the bottom of the second. Austin Bernard was walked by Carlos Hernandez then was doubled home by McLaughlin, extending Asheville's lead to 4-0.
Lexington would go on to score eight unanswered runs beginning in the top of the third. Ricky Aracena singled on a bunt to the right of the pitcher's mound then advanced to third on a single to left field by Cristian Perez. With runners on the corners, Brewer Hicklen smashed his first home run of the game, putting the Legends on the board 4-3.
In the top of the fourth, Seuly Matias led off with a double to left field then advanced to third on a ground out hit by MJ Melendez. Sebastian Rivero also grounded out, but Matias was able to score, tying the game at four runs each. 
Lexington's scoring continued into the top of the fifth. Perez singled to right field then Hicklen hit his second home run of the ballgame, putting the Legends up 6-4.
In the top of the seventh, Lexington plated their final runs of the game. Ricky Aracena reached on a lead off single to left field then Cal Jones hit a two-run home run to extend the Legends' lead to 8-4.
Danny Hrbeck earned the win for Lexington, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings allowing two hits and striking out two. Nick Kennedy was given the loss, pitching 6.1 innings allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits while striking out six. 



The Legends return to Whitaker Bank Ballpark tomorrow, June 11 to face the Columbia Fireflies at 7:05 p.m. Fans with sensory sensitivities and their families will be able to enter the ballpark at 5 p.m. to take part in pre-game festivities they previously may have had to skip. There will be no loud music or public-address announcements made during this time. Legends players will be available for autographs and the Toyota Triple Play Zone will be open, also. When gates open for the public at 6 p.m., children and their families can make their way to Guest Services to pick up one of the thirty Sensory Safety Kits provided by UK HealthCare for the remainder of their time at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
