Schollsville – Mt. Folly Farm will open its gates for a Hemp Harvest party this Saturday, October 6, from 1-4. Activities will include a tour of hemp fields that are ready to harvest, a discussion of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s innovative hemp program, hemp dawgs, hemp beer, and non-alcoholic drinks for those who prefer them.
Mt. Folly has been a part of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s innovative agricultural hemp program since 2016. Under the brands “Laura’s Hemp Chocolates” and “Homestead Alternatives” the farm team has developed a family of products to benefit the farm, the local economy and its customers.
Everyone is invited to spend an afternoon on the farm, meet the folks involved, and have some fun.
The festival will be at the homestead, which includes an 18th-century log cabin, a small farm store, a granary, a root cellar, goats, a bottle calf, and a cow herd. The farm is one of the largest USDA-certified organic farms in Kentucky.
The event is located at 3581 Schollsville Road, Winchester, KY 40391
