Award-winning Bluegrass Trust deTour to highlight Lexington’s historical architecture of Paul Miller Ford’s modern hyperbolic paraboloid showroom.
Lexington, KY – In 2011, the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation established BGT deTour in an effort to connect the community with historical and architecturally interesting sites. Throughout the year, they highlight various historical buildings in Lexington, free of charge, to the public. This month, deTour will highlight mid-century modern architecture in Lexington and has chosen Paul Miller Ford's 1964 showroom as the showcase. In 1953, Paul E. Miller opened Paul Miller Ford on Main Street in downtown Lexington. In 1964, he moved the dealership from Main St. to the then farmland and now bustling New Circle Road and teamed up with Lexington architect, Helm Roberts, to create the renowned hyperbolic paraboloid design. Join the BGT in the Paul Miller Ford showroom located at 975 East New Circle Road on February 5th, for an architectural overview of the showroom and the iconic modern design features throughout the building. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and parking will be provided.
