GORJESS SPRING BEAUTY: COLOR THEORY

By Jesse L. Brooks

When seasons transition, so should our makeup routine. With springtime in full swing and Keeneland days and The Kentucky Derby on the calendar, it’s time to set aside our beautiful, rich fall palettes and dive into some color!

An unexpected, vibrant eye might sound intimating, but when executed correctly, it can bring out your eye color and make your entire face ‘pop’!

If you aren’t feeling quite so brave, color can always be injected in less obvious ways. A lavender eyeliner in the waterline or a light dusting of fuchsia blush are fun and easy ways to switch things up without stepping too far outside your comfort zone.

Investing in a lip palette is a fantastic way to give yourself options. Rose and plum shades are perfect for spring, and with a palette, you have the ability to deepen or lighten your desired hue. As for spring skin, it’s all about looking fresh and luminous. So even if you are a full coverage gal, with the right products you can still achieve a gorgeous glow.
